What are you guys doing about boost gauges etc? I am a control systems and HMI guy so it is my mission when I get back from Africa to get into my C7's dash HMI and tinker away at it so I can add boost and Meth flow indication. (I already had Johnson Controls slam the door in my face due to my requesting access to "confidential" information blah blah... but I may have another trick up my sleeve)
But as a backup plan what are you guys using for boost gauges? The only gauge pillers I found looked like **** and cost $$$$.
I have a custom setup that I came up with - I think it looks very nice, works quite well...
I used a diamond 1/2" tile hole saw to cut into the driver's front windshield speaker grille (cheap to replace), then ran the wiring down the side of the dash behind the paneling and out to the grommet up and over the clutch area. All of my wideband wiring, etc. also goes through there.
Yes, this does require several things to come apart, but I can put a How-To up if it's something you (or others) like.
Here's a look at it - might not be your cup of tea, but it's very functional and gets a lot of compliments. Boost on the right, AFR on the left. Only problem I need to fix is nighttime reflection on the windshield. Illumination works, though - running a lead from the headlight fuse (modified).
It's a little hard to see exactly how they are mounted, I suppose if enough people are interested a "How-to" may be in order. I'm very interested but I don't want you to go through the trouble of a how to just for me, lets see how many interested people pop up on this thread!
I run with no gauges! This is my 3rd blown Corvette!
Not counting the ZR1 and I never have looked at the boost gauge in it either! The boost gauge is not needed! IMO!

I intend to run high boost and be meth dependent so I would prefer a way to monitor both.

The Alky meth control kit comes with a meth spray light. Although it is not a gauge it does tell you when it is spraying. I am waiting for some companies to come out with gages myself.
Looks great Theta, I would be interested in the how to. I have been looking at gauges but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Are those Innovate what you would recommend?
Looks like Chevrolet is replacing the coolant temperature gauge with a manifold pressure gauge in the Z06, you can see it at the 7 and 17 second marks in the youtube video below. Frankly I would prefer the fuel gauge be relegated to a secondary choice on the configurable display. It is the one that is least likely to change value quickly unless you hit something that punctures the fuel tank in which case you won't need a gauge to alert you. ECT, oil pressure, or oil temperature would all be much more useful primary gauges for any version of the C7 than the fuel gauge.
I would prefer a small percentage display for the fuel level (65%) in the corner or bottom middle of the display.
big analog look tach with a digital readout in middle along with digital readouts around the tach that can all be configured to display the info you want to see and can be programmed per drive mode.
the current model is close but too much fixed gauges, and too much redundancy (I don't need 4 ways to see coolant temp).
