Does anyone know why GM says not to use the front license plate bracket that fits inside the grill of the C-7, part number 22830069, to hold the front license plate required by some states? The bracket that they say is okay fits over the painted nose of the vette and could scratch if it starts to rub. Does this other bracket cause a problem with the cooling?
Plate is supposed to be 12 inches off ground in some states, thats why Gm has 2 plate mounting options. I used the aero plate, I think that a LEO would not know this law and would be fine with seeing a plate on car.
I trimmed the "aero panel" down to the size of the plate so that it opens up 50% more area by allowing flow around the plate.
The aero panel used to come all the way over to the first vertical rib in the grille on both sides.
