USA cars actually don't have the receiver in the bumpers to take a tow hook. GM sells the hooks though LOL

That's exactly why I was asking. I popped the covers off and saw that we weren't given that option, so I was wondering if any aftermarket company has come up with a workable solution.

Sadly, nothing yet... I've been actively pursuing this for 8 months now, and have really looked into frame welding, etc. to no avail.

I think it sucks (not really any other word for it) that the US version simply left that out. That's just dumb... If the Z06 doesn't have a tow point, that's going to **** a lot of people off.

If anybody wants to work on one or has an idea, let me know. I'll get you any schematics you need for it to happen.

Phoenix has both front and rear tow hooks available for the C7.

Can't find any info on it - have a link by any chance?

Their old site was hacked, and the new one isn't really put together well enough to find anything.

I can probably tell you anything you need to know about them. I've installed a few sets already.

Oh, that's great!

Really the main questions would be where the attachment point is, and if you have any pictures (or even a description of vertical/horizontal static, etc).

I had considered procuring the Euro piece and having it TIG welded, but I would never trust it...

They are bolted to the impact bar, both front and rear. The front one requires removing the fascia, the rear requires removing the lower valance panel. The euro piece won't work- there is no provision in the impact bars to install it.

Exactly - that's why it would need to be welded, and then it's only as strong as the weld. No thanks to that option.

If you have pictures, could you share a few? If not, could you describe the attachment points a little more specifically. I will provide schematics of the front and rear bars if you want to point out where they're going.

Any cutting/trimming required?

...

There is no doubt in my mind that a bolt on tow hook for a C7 work, since they work fine on C5's and C6's.

I think you really misread that... For some reason I thought you might...

I was agreeing with you regarding the Euro plate - that would need to be TIGed, which would only be as strong as the weld.

For anyone else interested in either figuring out where the attachment points are, here are the front and rear explosions:

#39 on the front is a tow eye, so that's a good front location. Rear doesn't seem to have anything to use...

I have not pulled the front fascia off yet (my garage is not heated) to investigate but I am hoping I can do a minimally invasive "sandwich approach" of the front impact bar. I'm thinking maybe a front steel plate ~ 2' x3" with a nut welded on the back sized to accept the OEM hook and a matching sized backer plate located on the backside of the impact bar (I do not know if back side accessible of if any space conflict) and simply thru bolt the four corners of the plates and sandwich the front frame structure. This would avoid removing some components and needing to gain access to the "interior" of the front impact bar. I prefer to mod as little as possible and keep with OEM hook as GM put some thought into structural integrity but I must say I am extremely frustrated they did not leave the threaded provision in the US model.

I am also swapping out the grille to Z06 so it will give me the opportunity to align with grille work.

If anyone has had the fascia off and can provide feedback on feasibility/ space access on backside of impact bar would be appreciated- not getting warm around here anytime soon
