I have just under 7K on my car and I noticed the past week that I'm sliding around a bit more than normal and getting a lot more tire slip from a hard start and into 2nd gear.
I drive the car 100 percent of the time in Track/PTM Sport 1.
Either the engine is breaking in more and making a bit more power, or the heat the past few weeks is bringing out the oil in the pavement, or the tires are losing some grip as they wear.
I noticed some people on here talk about difficulty with traction which has always been what amazed me about the car. Even slipping the clutch out around 3500rpm you'd get a few squeaks from the tires and were off.
Car is a bit more entertaining this way but not sure if there is a huge performance drop off with these tires or not as they wear/age.
Try West Texas, I guess it is a combination of the heat and the dust on the pavement but the roads are really slick most of the year. I was out there for 3 years in the late 80s and it was amusing to hear tire squealing sounds even from little old ladies taking a corner at normal speed. One of the many things I DON'T miss about Lubbock
