The c7 defaults at start up in touring mode. Can it be set to start up in track mode? I would have thought that it would start in whatever mode was last used. But no.
Thanks Bruce@optonline.net

No.
It defaults to Tour if you shutdown in Track. If you stay in Sport it will restart in Sport. There's some verbiage about it in the manual. I think it's a safety thing to reset the "features".
GM probably designed it this way to avoid pissing off any neighbors you may have.
So I leave for work at 5:30 am and don't need to be in "race" mode first thing in the morning. I wait until I get out of the sub-division before switching to Sport.
Yes I know some folks don't care or live by them selves, but GM has to design for the 99% of their customers.

Nah, I think it's the active handling/safety features. If you leave the car in Sport mode, or just turn the exhaust to always loud it will start up loud.

That's the most retarded assumption I've ever heard. Sorry, that's just silly.
I can turn my NPP to "Off" and "**** off the neighbors at 5:30 am" all I want.
You just have to sometimes wonder why people jump to such irrational conclusions.
I am an engineer, and the thought of concern for neighbors being woken up by a loud car, and then purposely forcing the car to start with NPP on "quiet" because of it is just ridiculous.
