Based on your guys past experiences is the Nitto Nt05 a pretty sticky tire vs the factory stock tires?
I have read countless threads reviewing them but I am needing to know, on a 650hp+ car will I notice a significant difference in off the line traction from the Nt05 over the stock run flats?
Also, what are your thoughts on what is the widest tire size I can safely mount on a rear non-z51 factory wheel???
FWIW, I just put Toyo R888 285/35/20 on my z51 rears and I still am getting a lot of wheel slip at the drag strip. Only mod so far is headers/exhaust and tune.

Well, to be perfectly honest, any low profile tire that doesn't have a drag compound rubber is going to slip quite a bit. R888's are an excellent road tire, bit they are not going to leave you impressed with launch traction at a drag strip. The sidewall is way too stiff and the compound isn't soft enough. No street tire will impress you at the strip.
Mickey Thompson ET Radial is the best all-around street legal drag tire. The highest grip drag "radial" is the Mickey Thompson (streetable) and the Hoosier (not street friendly).
The NT05R is pretty grippy, but not as much as the other two. You will get decent mileage from them compared to the other two though. Depending on how many miles you put on your car on the street, if acceleration grip is your priority you need a drag radial.
