aFe CAI insulation fabrication
using the same material we used on the race cars
I used mostly template method
Side panel
Surface MUST be cleaned to remove oil residue first. This is the best stuff I could find.
Bottom panel
Curve template. Compound curves require lots of fitting/pieces/seams.

Question: is there any evidence that the stock AFE is causing a rise in IAT's? I have one on mine and run the crap out of it on some pretty Hot days, and don't feel like it is pulling timing...

One needs to run IAT's to determine the delta from Ambient. I haven't gotten around to doing this yet but I'm guessing the gains won't be great due to the design and short runner.. That said, I'm a fan of insulated airboxes and actually make a living building a very unique one for Audi's and VW's. Juries out til the Data's in..
