Sorry if this is a silly question, but on BMW's its very common to use double sided tape to affix the rear carbon fiber spoiler. I had one on my 1 series for 5 years without any issues. I was able to easily remove it too (using fishing line + goo gone) once I sold the car.
For people getting the Z51 (or any) rear spoiler for the base (non-z51) model, why not use double sided tape? Is drilling holes really necessary?
Thanks!:blue angel:
I'm planning on getting some sort of carbon spoiler soon, but I'm not too excited about having to remove the rear bumper or drill holes :x
I had a Caravaggio spoiler on one of my C5's and it was held on 100% by double sided tape. Absolutely no concerns about it ever accidentally coming off. I would imagine the same could definitely be done with the C7 spoiler as long as there aren't any mounting studs or anything protruding from the spoiler itself.

Ah okay. It seems all the spoilers so far come with bolts to mount on it. Maybe I'll be the first to go the sticky tape route
