Default C7 missing part?

I had the opportunity to inspect my new 2014 Convertible Z51 on a lift. I saw that there is a row of captive nuts just under & behind the lower part of the front "bumper".

What goes there? There are Right & left small air "dams" and these captive nuts are in a row between them, they must be there for a reason.

Thanks

They would be used for a air dam on a NON-Z51. The Z51's have just the two side airdams.

The base model C7 has a full air dam like the C6 & C5 did, but the Z51's intentionally do not have the center piece.

Apparently we want that air to go under the car, as it will be routed and used for cooling on the Z51. A nice thing about this is that we don't get that embarrassing scraping noise when we go over the slightest of bumps... that's one thing I definitely do not miss about my C6.

What was embarrassing about the scrapping noise? It is just the noise made by a low ground clearance car.

I have read the scraping noise being described as annoying or undesirable by a few people .

iImust admit i love hearing that noise, i lowered on stock bolts so it happens all the time.

especially like hearing it when doing say 30 on a country road and hitting a little bump or swoop in the road

then again to each his own, i understand how some may not like it.

love to see pics, I have a z51 and I hear a scraping sound when I pull up a drive way too quick, I did notice my ACS front splitter scraped "today" pulling into my driveway a little too fast, I bet GM will have a lot a c7zo6 complaint's, nothing a little sanding and touch up paint cant fix, but I will def not be lowering my car w the aero Kit.... just got to drive slow over driveways and parking lots.......... the air dam is meant to scrape that's not bad.......I am sure if you have a base model you can add the z51 air dam for cooling.......ect
