Default LMR 160* stat a success!

Put this thing in before heading to the track tonight, changed the target ECT setting to 180* and worked like a champ!

On the highway it was 165* cruising

Looking at logs at the track, I was short on time and didn't have a lot of time to let the car sit and the temps were hovering right around that 180* mark that I set it up for. I'll have to try to lower that to 170* next time to get those fans rolling more.

is this a swap without adjusting paramaters, just a plug and go? I did the 165 on my LS3 and never changed anything and it lowered my temps too.

Its an easy swap but the PCM is set at a higher setting, so your fans won't operate properly.

I wonder about running the engine too cool and not getting the oil temps up to boil out the moisture. what are your thoughts on the "best temp" for the oil and water

should make more power though

nice work!

if 212 degrees was required for evaporation we would all be dead.

the thermostat regulates coolant flow, not oil. oil temps still can easily get over 200 with a much lower coolant temp.

Great work Ben. I'm still looking for help to solve the car getting hot do to the front mounted intercooler. These C7s seem to have the radiator maxed out from day one and any obstruction ( front mounted plate) with cause hot or over heated driving on a road coarse. A 160 thermostat won't fix that but I would like the car running a bit cooler so I would have more time until temp gets hotter.

For an example, Sunday I got on the car full throttle from 60ish to 145 and shut it down and water temp with up to 250 is 10 seconds..... Really sucks.
