How far towards the combustion chamber are you putting it? The closer the better. Or is that it right there past the brass fittings?
If you put it directly past the alky nozzle, you are going to get a falsely low temperature reading. No bueno. I would mount it deep in one of the manifold runners to give the air and alky more time to mix for a more accurate overall intake temperature.
