Default Problem at the track

Had Hoosier's on my C7, initially it seemed fine but as the tires warmed and I was driving with more authority I found the that the tire indicator came on and noticed power loss in tight turns ( drove like the old Porsche's that had turbo lag, as soon as the car straightened the power came back on). No problems on more open swepting turns. The Hoosiers didn't have tire monitors; could this have been the problem. Thanks for the imput.

Not having tire pressure monitors shouldn't affect performance.

I'm assuming it was TC. Which PTM mode?

could not measure tire temp without sensors and probably defaults to cold which will amplify traction control.

I had set the car on TRACK, RACE, and traction control was off. Tire temps were at 38 lbs when hot. Any thoughts? Drdavid121

Driving without PTSM's DOES effect performance in a C6, so I would be surprised if it didn't in a C7. The car assumed you have 4 flat tires and cuts power.

Default PTSM defined?

Steve: I'm at the office and don't have access to my manuel. I suppost the PTSM is referring to tire senors? Please explain, much appreciated. I'm coming from several years racing older porsches without all this technology so the vette is a new animal. I recieved the car late this summer and was able to get one session in before Porsche Club of America (PCA) shut down their season for the year. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Mods include safey harness, Carbotech 10's (insufficent bite and wore down the pads; thinking of PF 08. ) Hoosier's 18"s all around.

I don know about your issue sorry but, I will tell you should have been on XP 20 or 24 for pads with those tires just an FYI.

TPMS to monitor tire pressures (I'm pretty sure I have that right, I don't have a C7 so I'm going off the other discussions on this forum). I think I might have used the wrong acronym, sorry. My experience comes from autocrossing a friend's C6 Z06 and what we discovered was that after a number of runs with sensorless wheels, we had the car giving a code and the engine lost power.

We were able to correct the situation by remounting wheels with sensors and driving the car for a number of miles. If you are going to be using your car frequently for track/autocross type of activities and it turns out the C7 has similar software, I would recommend just biting the bullet and springing for wheels with sensors.

Another solution is to buy plastic pipe and put four sensors inside it, seal both ends with a valve on one end so that you can pressurize it and keep it in the console of the car and it will think it is reading good tire pressure and will not cut power, which I presume happens to help protect people from trying to drive 150 plus MPH with a flat tire.

Tried this on my 08. It didn't work. After a half hour the car started applying the brakes in turns to slow down to 55 mph. In some high speed corners that can be quite disconcerting to suddenly have the front brakes applied at 120 mph with somebody else on your butt.
