Default Question about AFE Intake

I already have a Diablo tuner set up on my car, now I am looking at getting the AFE cold air intake that seems to be recommended as perhaps the 'next' item to get. When you buy one online, you have the option of 'dry' or 'oiled'. What's the difference? Which one am I suppose to buy? I don't plan on ever tracking the car, but I enjoy driving it daily and getting up to speed.

I'd go with the dry for cars with bolt ons. My testing showed zero difference between dry vs. oiled. See the second graph. Dry has better filtration capabilities. Theoretically oiled flows better, but I think it would take some bigger mods to see a difference. The aFe filters are much larger than stock as it is.

The current technology is going to all OIL LESS filters---The Oil less filters are all made out of synthetic fibers and clean with just an air compressor---Even K&N has some new oil less filters---Oiled filters is 15 YO technology
PS I just installed the new AFE Oil less on my car---I love it---As a tuner I actually had to De-Tune my car at P/T after the install because it was so aggressive that I had to lift after every stop light as it would lurch forward--Can't believe I just said that--LOL But these new DI engines are amazing !!----- I do have a few other mods that helped as a KD Innovations ported TB and a mufflerless exhaust---catch can-- and EFILIVE tune
You may not have to tune your car if if has never been tuned---I had to re tune as I made it aggressive in stock trim--

We still sell quite a few oiled filters but the dry is becoming more and more popular.
We have the dry's in stock and on sale for 399.99 if you are looking for one.

Tried sending an email to you and it bounced back. Just double checking this is the same part for the 2015 C7. Also when I tried to check out in Paypal on the website the final charge showed as 399.95, but the previous page said it was 20 bucks or so for shipping..

Weird. Once you get to the end it should add shipping. I just went through the checkout process and it seemed to be working just fine, but maybe it's having some issues. If you keep having problems feel free to give us a call or email me at gary@texas-speed.com Oh and yes it's the same part number

No problem. I just processed your order myself and it will go out of here today for you. UPS is showing just a few days to you, so you should have it pretty quick. We will also email you a tracking number toward the end of the day.

Thanks for the order and let us know if you need anything else.
