Excuse my ignorance, but...

Going catless will void the warranty and I think it's also against federal law to remove pollution control.
Please understand that the term 'voiding the warranty'. With these mods, if your dealer says it will 'void the warranty', he's only talking about the drive train warranty. If, for example, your air conditioner goes out, that will be covered, however any engine, transmission, or rear end problems are not covered.
My previous performance car was a 2010 Camaro; supercharged, dyno tuned (565 RWHP), headers, etc, etc. I live in Metro-Detroit. There are 3-4 Chevy dealerships within a 30 minute drive of my house. When I developed an oil leak, one dealer wouldn't even let me in the door to diagnose the problem because of my mods.
I went to another dealer. They did the repairs under warranty. The leak was the oil pan and oil filter housing that also houses the oil cooler return lines. They had to drop the left side header to do the job. So, I agreed to pay $50 for additional labor. All other parts and labor was covered.
Before that incident, I did have a "warranty conversation" with that dealer's service manager. We had an understanding of what would, or would not, be covered. If I came in with a busted IRS axle or broken transmission output shaft, I'll have my pen ready to write a check.
I always kept a 8"x10" card in the glove box that I put on the front seat when I went to any dealership. It read: "Custom Tuned and Calibrated, Do Not Re-flash".
I no longer have the Camaro, but I retained that card and I'll keep it in my C7 because it now has a supercharger and has been calibrated.
