Default Software update. How?

OK, stupid question. My infotainment audio completely crashed. No audio, a "no audio" message on the DIC, etc.
So of course, shutting the car off and turning it back on fixed it.
This also happened once with the DIC speed readout when in the speed/speedlimit page on the DIC Info section. Turn off car then back on and problem gone.
However, this brings up the question, how do you update the infotainment system software? The software update option in settings is greyed out, and the manual just says to go to chevrolet.com. A search on that website turned up nothing.
Is this done via a flash drive, via satellite or cell connection?
thx!!

You gotta take it in, no consumer updates avail. Try pulling the neg post on the batt for an hour, may or may not help.

Thanks! Next time something happens (and it will) I'll try it.
I assume that's for capacitor discharge? An hour? Wow.
