Default Oil Pump Replacement

Are any of you guys that have done the 416 evolution on your car replacing the stock oil pump? If so, with what? Also, are you going to redline/royal purple oil??

Thanks

I didn't, have the stock oil pump as far as I know. I used Joe Gibbs break in oil from Texas Speed for ~1000 miles or so and then got a free Mobil One oil change from the dealer. I will run Mobile One Extended Performance when my free oil changes are up.

Congrats Shawn. I drove mine around for about 700 miles to break it in before revving it up on the dyno and used the break in oil. Are you going to do any of that or just let er rip?

There don't seem to be any oil pump upgrade options...blows my mind...over a year and still very few options. Are you guys NA or forced induction cars? What kind of power are you making?

We both have ECS blowers. Mine is at 668 rwhp and Shawn should be 850-900. I have the 4.1" pulley on my blower and have a 3.5" on my workbench if I decide I need another 100.

Here is some good oil info:

Mine is 416 with Paxton 2200R blower, Greg Goode heads, and a custom spec'd cam, with a 100 dry nitrous shot. Should be good for 1200 full out. Test piloting the first 3 disc clutch on the streets as well.

Thanks for the info...lot of virgin ground out there...

Lol...good question. Right now I have 315/35/20 R888's on the back. I am trying to sell the 20/19" set and go to 18's where there are more tire options. Plan on running a 325/40/18 M&H Racemaster.

Buddy don't worry about the oil pump. The stock one will do fine. Remember its a different monster compared to ls stuff. Its controlled by the ecm.

When you guys did the 416, did you change out your clutch? If so, did you replace your slave/master with a new one or just keep your original in there..?

Im currently running all stock driveline components. I did request to have a speed bleeder installed just to make maintenance a little easier. I'm going to avoid dig racing as much as possible and hopefully it will survive. I'm struggling to come up with a tire and wheel setup. I've kind of blown my race car budget getting to the point I am now so I'm looking for a more cost effective option. So far no good.

Mine is an A6 . I've not read/heard of anyone having C7 clutch slip issues. I think if you put enough tire on it and dump the clutch the differential will fail before the clutch slips.

Gotcha....where did you find the remote clutch bleeder? I can't seem to find one. It was also recommended to me to run higher temp brake fluid.

Tire and wheel setup for 19/20 cars are verrrrrry frustrating. I will sell you guys mine! I am going to an 18" setup if can sell the ones I have now. Want to put an M&H Racemaster on it.
