@div7racer - Interested in those ebay pipes as well. Let us know the noise levels and drone if any and how you like it

Default x-pipe sounds

The Manzo x-pipe is just ever so slightly louder than the stock NPP system when it is closed. Most people couldn't tell the difference. But when the NPP is open and the throttle is floored it is very loud and aggressive. Ed

Doubt it will happen tonight since I've been at work since 7am and I wont get off till after 10pm. I also doubt it will take me 2 hours, I have an easy lift and air tools, plus i had my stock one off when i installed my supercharger. I'll have it done this week for sure.

I had to do my bank run for work this afternoon and stopped by my house on the way and took some pics.

Box a little beat up

pipes

bottom was a little bent, but was easy to fix with vise grips

I didn't see any bolts in the box, but I was in a hurry so they may be there. I did see the exhaust clamps.
Quality looks great!

^^^ Wait why would you get it with cats? The purpose is to remove the secondary cats for more sound. This won't be much different than stock.

i think they may be high flow cats? really not much out there explaining. I'm not expecting any performance gain, but hopefully sound..we shall see.

Edit: they are not cats but "tuned resonators"

If you wouldn't mind, please throw it on a scale. I measured the catless Borla at 15.8 lbs.

The guys at work told me to be careful where I open it up, they are starting a pool on when I will get a ticket for excessive noise ! I have a Z06 so maybe that makes it louder than a NA motor. Ed
Did your pipe look the same as mine looking at the cats or was it straight through?

Mine has what I would call a resonator. It is actually a SS glass pack, like a "cherry bomb muffler" if you are old enough to know the term !
It is a perforated pipe encircled with packing, that you can see straight through. Ed

I'm plenty old enough...lol. Thanks that is what I was curious about. Well the pipe I bought says clearly that it removes the cats and not a high flow cat pipe, so now I get to deal with the vender to switch it out for a non-cated one.

I just ordered the Borla X-pipe for my 17 GS. I am thinking of going to the Army hobby shop, $9.60/hr to use the lift. I have a Dewalt cordless impact gun (400ftlbs). I ordered the Jack pads for the lift. When wrenching Murphy's law always comes into play so I wanted to reach out and figure out tackling this. Does anybody know the socket size for the bolts? With a lift and the right tools is it safe to assume its pretty straightforward swap? I have high Ceramic anti-seize paste I use for motorcycle exhaust joints, should I use this on the X-pipe connections? The car is new with 600 miles on it so I am not expecting to encounter frozen bolt etc.

Check out my original post, I think I laid out which tools you'll need. Nothing crazy or exotic, and it's a pretty easy swap so I don't expect you'll encounter any issues. No harm in using that anti-seize paste, it will just make it easier to remove if you ever decide to (I used high-temp copper anti-seize on mine).

Quick update, I'm sending my ebay x-pipe back to the seller due to the damage and because it has high flow 200 cell cats installed. Once I hear back from other ebay sellers about weather they have cats of not I'll order a different on and update.
