Default Elite Catch Can owners

I recently purchased an Elite (Best) Catch Can for my Z51, and was wondering if anyone that has the Elite Can has been able to add a drain valve to the bottom of the Can (similar to the Rx Catch Can)? And if so, where did you find the valve? (I've check with Elite and they do not offer such a valve.)

There's no reason you cannot install a drain. Drill and tap the bottom of the can for 1/4"npt (or other size) and buy a radiator draincock to fit from a local auto parts store. Make sure it is sealed tight or it may seep. Optional drain hose will always drip! However there is not much room to use it with the stock mounting height. I raised mine 3" on a aluminum spacer and longer matching bolt in the original position. Very easy to reach and unscrew can plus now I don't need the drain anymore. Slim

Why would you want to? I have the E2 and its perfect. If you add a drain to the bottom, it'll most likely not have the room to do a clean drain. Heck, i don't even think theres enough clearance to have a drain plug... I added a AFE cai and it makes so much more room to remove the can

Thanks, good point. Please excuse my ignorance. This is my first Catch Can install.

I'm not familiar with a AFE cai. Can you fill me in?

this is how we learn, no need to apologize. The afe cai is a cold air intake. It replaces the stock air box (where the air filter is) with one that allows more air to enter the intake.
