Default eLSD percent

Hey all!
When I'm cruising around my eLSD is around 12-15%. Is this normal? What exactly does this mean?

I have no idea... I wish my 2014 had that feature. I feel robbed :P

Can someone come out with a jail break so I can have these tools? Thanks

I would make a wild guess it's more than software, might be a added sensor and a little cable.

Since it's electronic, it would have to know these values in order to adjust.

And the percentage is normal.

I'm sure you are right, but my guess is that all these sensors are already installed, and the ECU already checks for these variables to allow the eLSD to perform. I'm confident this is just a software upgrade for the 2014's

I haven't run across that menu yet but now I'm curious to see what mine says!

The eLSD modulates torque to the rear wheels based on road conditions and mode you're using, altering how fast or slow the limited slip engages, which is probably why you're noticing that number changing.

Mine shows similar %age while going straight. '15 Z51 A8. I've seen it higher than this while going straight as well. Glad to see others notice it as well.

FYI, it's the bottom selection of the Performance menu. 2015+ Z51/Z06 only.

Sorry it's blurry....

I've been trying to make some sense of these eLSD displays myself. Given that the differential should "lighten up" on the traction control clutches when braking the car into a corner and "tighten up" on the clutches when accelerating out of a corner, I would expect to see an indication of that on the upper gauge that usually reads between 5% and 15%. I haven't really been able to correlate those activities to the gauge readings.

The lower gauge, Wheel Slip, would seem to indicate the difference in rotational speed between the two rear wheels -- while turning, of course. I sometimes get a temporary fleeting indication partway up the 0% to 30% scale, but, again, the indications don't really seem to relate to difference in wheel speed.

Can anyone shed some light on how to interpret these indicators?

Thanks, Ernie

GM acknowledged at the Bash, that the eLSD gauge was not always giving accurate info, needed some work (which we are doing). Hopefully the fix will be a simple software update.

Default eLSD Gauge Readings

Mine shows similar readings. The faster I go in a straight line the higher the percentage reads. Also shows slip on the bar graph gauge. When I come to a normal stop, wheel slip temporally goes all the way to 30%.

Hopefully this is not putting excessive wear on the clutches.

Sounds like previous posts indicate it is a known reading problem.
Any ideas on how I will know when a "fix" becomes available?
