B Stead,

I'm considering these wheels and offset for track use only.

9.0" width: +50 offset
10.5" width: +65 offset

- (2) 18x9.0 / (2) 19x10.5 TSW Nurburgring, Interlagos or Panorama

What are your thoughts on running a 265/35/18 and a 305/30/19.
There's a pretty good tire selection.

My primary concerns are - The wheels do not rub.
They do not Stick out past the fenders.

I could also run 255/35/18 and 295/30/19.

Can you give me your thoughts?

Thanks

The only rubbing is on the plastic air deflectors on the lower control arms. It carved a notch about 2" x 3". I cleaned it up a little with a box cutter. The Hoosiers are a little wider than the R888's & they also scrape a little on the inside edge of the brake cooling duct that comes in at the top of the wheel well. All of this rubbing occurs only at full lock. It doesn't seem to occur on the track.

I bought a set of 5mm wheel spacers, which seem to eliminate all of the rubbing. But they do bring the outside edge of the tires closer to the inside fender lip. I think it could be easily addressed with some more neg. camber, but I'm going to test the present setup with the spacers at an autocross next weekend. Still learning.
im happy your TC learned? the 18's, i was just going to inbox you and say the car does not know wheel size but overall tire size. last season i ran 315/35/17's( yes 17's) on the front of my base c7 with 315/30/18 out back, the fronts are 1/10 of a inch taller than the rear, when i ordered then i thought they were same height, NO! anyway one ride around the block and nannies were gone for good. f.y.i i just inbox looking for the 2nd set of wheels you did not buy, 18's fit/work fine on z51

Here's Kevin's post. Don't know if second set sold yet. BTW he also had a really nice race seat and harness he was looking to sell.

The C7 OEM 285 rear tires are flush at 65mm offset.

And so:

285 rear tire at 65mm wheel offset
295 rear tire at 70mm wheel offset
305 rear tire at 75mm wheel offset
315 rear tire at 79mm wheel offset

It does happen that the inside clearance is not much of a problem. But if the rear wheel offset is more inward than 79mm that reduces vehicle track width
.

Thanks guys....so are there any good solutions for wheels.

I have been looking, but continue to strike out with the exception of wheels in the $4,000 range or 3 piece which are a pain to maintain.

The Cray 2014 line has the 9.5" wide front wheels and the 11" wide rear wheels. The 18" front diameter is said not to work on a Z51 but 19/19 could work.

The Forgestar CF5 can be configured as :

Front, 19 x 10, 56mm
Rear, 20 x 11, 79mm

Find the sizes on the Forgestar website and price them on the Howey Industries webstite.

My Superleggera III trick is like this:

Front, 18 x 9.5, 59mm, use 3mm spacer, listed under the C5
Front, 19 x 9.5, 59mm, use 3mm spacer, listed under the C5
Rear, 19 x 11, 75mm, listed under the C6

Those are about $900 each and often in stock at TR.

Finspeed is on the forums with custom wheels at $895 each but options make them more like $1200. Those are one-piece forged wheels with a lot of machining
.

A standard set of Finspeed wheels will run you $3260. If you add the track pack (RT and Knurled bead seats) you are at $3620...and they are traditionally forged, not rotary forged - big difference.

Loved the C7 Zo6 set up. What do you have for C7 Z51 to drop down to an 18" wheel?
