Just returned from a club meeting where we had a certified corvette technician speak. Do not want to mention his name, but he gives all the seminars at all the big corvette shows throughout the country.
He said that by adding a cold air intake, you would upset the balance of the air into the engine from the air out of the engine and the computer would not relearn. This could result in codes and lessen the life of the drive train. Currently GM has set the drive train life to 300,000 miles.
Has anyone heard this before ? I am not planning on keeping this car for 300,000 miles, so that is no big deal, I just never heard this before.
