Default HRE Flowform wheels

I had a set of 11" wheels made for my car that cost almost $7000.
At the time I had no other options to run a Nitto NT01 in the 315-30-20 size. Other wise I would NEVER have spent that much on wheels.
The new wheels are offset 1" inboard, leaving the outside bead in the stock position.
Since then I know HRE came out with the Flowform in that same 11" size.
I've also had 2 customers come in with Cray wheels, which look very nice but stick out 1/2" further than mine and rub like he!!. I can't even believe they would make a wheel that would stick out so far.
I emailed Cray with my observations and, of course, got no response.
I would like to know what your experience has been with the HRE Flowform.
I need to sell my 14 fairly soon and buy a 15 automatic for CARB certification of my supercharger system.
If the Flowforms have the correct offset and don't rub with the 315 tire on it, I'll sell the car with my current wheels and just get the HREs for the new one.
If they stick out like the Crays, I'll be forced to keep mine and sell the car with the stock wheels.
I'm definitely not interested in buying another set of $7000 wheels.
Any "real world" experience with this wheel AND tire combo would be appreciated.

11" HRE Flowform +73 = same as Cray
+7 inboard +19 outboard + 315/30 =

10.5" TSW + stock tire = NO RUB

Nice looking wheel, but it's crazy how they can't get the offset right. Doesn't look right, IMO. They tuck in the front and stick out in the rear. Same with most other reasonably priced aftermarket wheels. When I was a part of the C6 forum, everyone knew that wheels sticking out past the quarter panel was a big no-no, as you would eventually crack them. Maybe the C7 quarter panels are more durable since it I haven't heard about anyone cracking theirs.

Here's how bad they stick out (not my car):

Default Finspeed Wheels

Andy, check out forum vendor Finspeed's offerings at http://www.finspeed.com/performance-wheels/f10/.
Talk to Daniel about your custom requirements and he'll build you a very nice set of fully forged wheels at a price near the HRE Flowforms and certainly a long way away from those $7000 wheels. Here's a picture of the stock width and offset wheels he built for my C7 Z51. Of course, they have many different styles and colors.

Default rear offsets

I talked to the design engineers at HRE, and they said the HRE Flow Form FF01 "cast" wheels are mfg with single chosen offsets that satisfy "most of the people most of the time". Once the design decision is made, all the Flow Form "cast" wheels have a single market driven offset and width and usually just a choice of finishes.

Most forged forged wheels have much higher prices and the buyer can usually select the offset he prefers and finish he prefers.

You may note that the HRE Flow Form cast wheels FF01, TSWs and Crays all have similar rear wheel offsets, which depending on wheel width, put the outside of the rear wheel almost 3/4" (20mm) out from the stock 10" wide 79mm offset wheel. I JUST DON"T GET WHY THEY DO THAT! Got that? I can go through the widths and offset numbers if needed....

Regardless of wheel width and offset, IMHO, the outside face of the rear wheel should not be more than 1/2" further out than the stock 10" wide 79mm offset wheel. For example; the HRE 20x11 wheel has a 73 mm offset...but I think it should really be a 79mm offset to put the rear wheel ONLY 1/2" further out than the stock 10" wide 79mm offset wheel.

Are all these guys buying HRE Flow Form FF01, TSWs and Crays happy with that 3/4" (20mm) sticking out?.........I guess so because the cast wheel mfgs are making what the market wants!

Well, I am not one of those happy guys and I have a brand new set of HRE 19/20 Flow Form FF01 wheels and I am really unhappy with the rear wheel offsets. By the way, the front offset of the 19x9.5 55mm HRE Flow Form FF01 are okay (about 1/2" more out).

I agree with all your observations. One question: have you observed that your car has closer clearance (more rubbing) on the passenger side rear than on the driver side? This has been observed on some 2014 Stingrays with proper alignment verified. Has anyone observed if clearance and appearance is still such an issue with a track alignment (1.5 to 2.0 degree negative camber)?

This is true. The right quarter panel is slightly narrower then the left. This has been proven by lots of guys including my car. The engineers at HRE wheels found this when they measured a C7 when they first came out.

I have HRE P101 on my car in a 20/21 setup. The rears are 21 x12 with a E90 offset on the rear and they don't rub with a 325 rear tire. This is why I went with HRE Wheels. They are the only company that can make you actually what YOU want in the finishes that YOU want. They also with withstand anything you are going to put them through. Remember people, you get what you pay for.
