Default Elite Catch Can install question

Question for anyone that has installed an Elite Catch Can C7 Z51. I noticed on Elite's installation instructions they show the clean side hose connecting to what looks like a GM Quick-disconnect 90 degree fitting. No such 90 degree GM fitting came with my kit. I'm wonder if I was short changed or is this something I'll have to buy? The 90 degree fitting just looks better than the hose coming off the air intake and pointing straight up.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If your talking the clean side from the oil reservoir cap to the intake there is no new 90 fitting. New hose goes from clean side new cap to the intake. You have to reuse your snap fitting on the intake side hose from your original hose. Cut it off your old hose. I think that is where you are confused. My kit from elite had everything I needed

No, not talking about the oil reservoir cap, I have that. I didn't realize Elite was re-using the snap fitting off the original intake hose for the air intake box connection. I was hoping there was a snap fitting I could buy without destroying the original hose.

Elite does not give you one of those for the intake side. Just cut off the one from your original hose. If you ever want to put it back, which I can't think why you would, just push it back on the original hose. You only mess up an inch of the original hose cutting it off. Your choice. I chose to cut mine off.

Thanks. I was hoping to hang on to the original hoses (intact) in case the next owner wanted to quickly return the car back to stock condition, but no big deal.

I held on to every cable, bolt, OEM part from my C6. When I traded it, the dealer wanted none of it. Guess I'll be putting it all up on eBay. This time, I'm not saving anything. I replaced my stock steering wheel and the original went on eBay that day.

I just picked up the best Elite Catch Can. I've read the arguments for and against it but finally decided it was just good piece of mind for me.

I wouldn't imagine a dealer would want any of the OEM parts during a trade. It would be way too much hassle for them, but a private buyer might see that as a good selling point. I plan to hang on to my OEM parts in case I decide to go down that selling path down the road.

I just finished up the Elite Catch Can (Best) install on my '15 Z51. It went fairly smoothly. I recommend using caution when installing the spring loaded compression hose clamps. One of mine slipped out of my pliers and took flight. It bounced off the inside of the hood and disappeared into the engine compartment. I spent a hour searching for it, finally finding it under the radiator.

I am not very mechanically talented...although do very well in bldg maint etc. I have 15 miles(just brought it home from dealer due to weather) on my C7 Z51 and have been deliberating for over a month whether to purchase and install Elite Catch Can..have read pros and cons...and confused even more whether its needed or not..I dont keep my Vettes very long..usually trade up ...so not critical..although this one is the finest I've ever owned...AND THIS MIGHT BE A KEEPER..Any idea or recommendations where I could take it for installation? N.Y. state 14221 zip code. Elite web site doesnt show any authorized dealers
or installers in my area...thanks

If you think you'll trade up in a few years I wouldn't worry about it. PCV funk will collect on your intake parts and you will get some intake valve Coking but dealers won't care about that as long as the car still runs well. But if you think you'll put a lot of miles on your Vette, and/or you think you might sell it yourself, a Catch Can might make a good investment & selling point.

I typically like to keep my vehicles fairly stock condition so I was hesitant to install a Catch Can but based on the evidence that was seeing I figured I should go ahead and install one. The installations could be written better, but after you bounce back and forth between pages you'll eventually understand that the installation is pretty simple. And if you choose it's easy to return to stock condition, although I'm not sure why you'd want to.

If you do decide to install it yourself and find the instructions a bit confusing (as I did), drop me a line and I'll send you some detailed pictures and info.

I purchased the Elite E2 catch can & not the clean air option.
The install instruction did not match what came in the kit.
A phone call to Elite was not returned.
Looking at pics on the forum from several members installations was able to figure it out.
Glad for my Engineering background, LOL
