Default Catch Cans

been looking around all day, still dont know what i should settle for, i need one, in 2000 miles ive lost 3 quarts of oil, yes its been at wot most of its life to justify that consumption, base non z51, was looking at the good elite catch can, will mounting interfere with a centrifugal mounting later? I noticed most kits other then the pricey lmr kit leave the drivers valve cover vent line tying into the intake, if i went with a run of the mill catch can and ran a small k&n filter on the valve cover like i have done on past engines would that be fine?
thanks

The Elite Engineering catch cans are the way to go and will not interfere with a centrifugal S/C setup. If I can help get you setup, feel free to call, PM or email me anytime.

Best regards,

With how the canadian dollar is, I can't justify spending almost $900 on the lmr one

I'm liking the mm setup, figuring out what I need, which kit? Would like to run an fittings instead of barbed and rubber hose to dress it up, get the oil fill adapter?

Call or email Dave. He will get you setup perfectly. I ran the barbed connectors because I like easy on/off with no tools. AN does look pretty, but I like the ability to just unplug and go.

crazybiker51,

We have our catch cans for the C7's in stock ready to ship. I have the polished and black in stock. The black cans are $55 extra. Let us know, they can leave today. Proven the best breather system on the market!

I installed the dual outlet UPR Catch Can with Clean Oil Separator on my Z51 as soon as I got it home. It uses quick connects on all the lines which makes a both easy and professional installation. Definitely works!

I am well aware of DI oil issues as I have a EB Flex with 88K on it. Ford builds a catch can in the back valve cover which when full, just overflows into the valve train. Vented the front valve cover with 2 K & N small filters, one mounted in the oil cap.

I highly recommend the UPR Catch Can.

Somehow, I’m skeptical that a base C7 benefits from a catch can. Of course it is a sample size of one but I’ve taken the intake coupler off several times and not only is there no oil anywhere, it’s hard to even find a deposit that comes off on your fingertips.

Still seems like a Z51 overflow issue. Don

I have a base and my car isn't driven daily. Mostly a weekend vehicle so when I'm in it it's spirited driving the majority of the time. I just took my intake manifold off to send out for porting and while I didn't have puddles of oil in mine like the z51 guys, I did have a mist of oil on the inside of the intake as well as the backside of the throttle body. I added a single valve UPR catch can for now just for piece of mind. Once I get it back together I'll drive it for awhile and then take it apart again and see how things look post catch can installation. If I end up going FI, I'll swap out for an LMR breather.
