Default Hptuner pointers?

It may be a touchy subject for some but I'm looking for some help/pointers when using the VCM suite.

I don't expect anyone to give up any trade secrets, I basically need a mentor. I don't have the vehicle yet but I do have the software + credits leftover from a previous vehicle. I could just purchase a canned tune and apply it myself.... but I want to learn for myself. I'm a "computer engineer" by trade so I like knowing exactly what does what.

I like quiet evenings by warm tires and 1/4 mile walks near the beach.

PM if you don't mind helping.

If your in or around Houston, TX then even better.

I can 100% appreciate your post, as I was a tuner for over 10 years with HPT on the LSx platform(s). The LT1 is like having to go back to school entirely and think from a different perspective.

You're essentially commanding from completely different tables than you thought you would need to in order to get proper results.

There have been some classes mentioned (Tuner Guys) that have helped other tuners here greatly on the E92. That being said, I've spent weeks pouring over different tunes for these, and I'm nowhere near comfortable making changes - too many odd parameters to keep an eye on, and bad tunes pop that front seal mighty quick.

That's basically what I'm afraid of. The last thing I want to do is cause damage.

My previous car was a Solstice GXP with a few mods... A different animal I know.

Classes aren't out of the question but I'd prefer more of a friendship type experience (not to sound weird). Something with a bit more trust involved etc... I don't want to get into the tuning business. I like my current employment (A LOT) it allows me to afford one of these now

That's actually a really good deal, especially since you're local.
