Just picked up my 15 aw stingray with npp. I like the exhaust note but I know there is more potential there. I'd really like to go with long tube headers and a carted x pipe with corsa extreme exhaust. Honestly this is my first American car and I'm not too familiar yet. So... Will I need to tune the car for headers? I don't want to lose my warranty yet so I'm trying to avoid it. I'm ok with any loss in the exhaust warranty. Would you guys recommend any other options for a great sound with little drone that keeps my warranty intact.
If you get headers, you will most likely need a tune to at least shut off the secondary O2s. Word is, that can void your drive train warrantee. I wouldn't gamble on it if you're not willing to risk it.

Easiest way to gain some more decibels and keep the warranty by not needing a tune is the X-pipe as mentioned.
For headers, if you'd prefer to skip tuning for the sake of warranty, the ARH mid-length headers are the best option for not throwing rear O2 codes.
i don't have npp, but i switched to corsa xtreme with corsa xpipe and I'm pleased with the sound. I think the xtreme, xpipe and headers would be way too loud. Try the xtreme and pipe first. you don't need a tune with that. then in the future if you want more add the headers and tune.
PS don't go corsa sports, they aren't much different than the NPP for the money...
Talk to your local dealers on what would void the warranty. It can vary from dealer to dealer on what they consider to void the warranty. One of the local dealers here said that installing headers would not necessarily void a warranty through them.
HP Tuners and EFI Live - both are custom tuning platforms.
There's never been a confirmation of Diablo leaving trace, so that's a better solution for those that are more or less hoping to retain warranty coverage (but I don't want to get too far off the track of the topic at hand ).

Thanks for the explanation!
Sorry one more quick question, you can still get a custom tune with the Diablo right?
Yes you can, if the companies that do it ever get back to you....both buddy and I (he has a 5.0), have been waiting 2 weeks for a simple header tune now from 2 seperate big name companies
From: Detroit area and Nashville area What day is it? Between MI & TN
Since you have NPP ~
Go to the settings and change the sound mode to "Track" to keep the valves open in the mufflers the maximum amount of time.
Either the Borla or Corsa x-pipe is a quick, cheaper upgrade to the stock NPP to make it a little more aggressive.
With NPP, to maintain the ability to electronically adjust the muffler valves, volume, you would want to get a system that supports the NPP valves - Borla Atak dual mode or Billy Boat Fusion. If you dont care about having that electronic 'sound control' valve to function after the change, then Corsa, Billy Boat, Borla, Flowmaster.... all have 'traditional' axle back muffler systems. You will pay more to keep the NPP valve capability over a 'simple' axle back.
Long tube headers - based on all feedback you will need a tune. Sound change, even with the stock NPP, has been reported to be significant.
Mid-length - based on all feedback you can get away without a tune to lower risk to powertrain warranty concerns. Sound change has been reported to be very positive as well.
A tune will get the most out either header approach (along with any intake, like Afe CAI, changes) but, its a level of comfort issue for most.
I went Corsa x-pipe, then Borla Atak dual mode axle back, and next up are ARH mid lengths in a few months without tune. After I get more miles on the car I'll think about the tune.

Oh ok thanks! Hope you get your tune sooner then later
its important to get the headers that arent going to give you a code. if you run headers without a tune, but you always have a check engine light on. that my cause a problem.
