Iv asked this a few times and looked around (not a fan of the search engine). What are people paying to upgrade their cam. What I'm looking for is a aggressive sound most likely with heads. This is my DD so I will still need to retain driving functions on a daily basis. Now I'm over a year away from doing this at least so that's why I'm short on exact details but want to get a preliminary pricing just to see what I'm looking at so exact numbers are not necessary. Also a build time would be great being as it is a DD.
you want a cam for the sound? why do the heads then? seems like a huge waste of money but it is all relative I guess.
one time i bought a Lamborghini and dropped it from my helicopter and then parachuted out of it and let it ram a mountain and explode because of the sound.
but seriously, i know the yellow pages don't exist anymore but don't you have a local shop you can call? what is their hourly rate? figure 20 hrs give or take a couple @ X labor rate ($1600 or so) plus the price on the internets for the cam kit (450 or so) and you have around 2200 dollars.
Didn't say i wanted it for the sound only did i? Might have came off that way but no just spending a little time researching. Maybe heads aren't necessary? Still young and learning. .
Also no I don't have a local shop I know of that I would trust. I live in southern Indiana but also haven't done a ton of research.

yes, actually you did. you listed two goals, aggressive sound and daily driver functionality.
the problem is, you need to know what exactly gives a camshaft an aggressive sound and what allows it to retain daily driver functionality google is pretty handy, i am not even about to type an essay. then you need to define what an aggressive sound even is....anything besides stock? or do you want it to lope once per second?
do you have power goals in mind? do you have RPM ranges in mind where you want power to be made? there are a thousand questions that could be asked but luckily, there are about 5 cams available for the new vette so it sort of narrows down your choices.
I can see where it would read as that's my only goal but honestly I'm not sure yet being as this is just the start of the research. Yes Google will help but honestly thought maybe I'd get a quick response here. The snide remark in ur second paragraph took me a bit off guard so.... not sure if you're being helpful or just pointing out all the things I don't know. The major details will be figured out once time comes. Right now I'm just blowing time on a very slow night while attempting to find a answer that has alluded me.
the labor is right around 20 hours, plus parts (cam's are more expensive for the c7) springs, pushrods, cam phaser, dod delete parts, etc. We can easily help you out and have a ton of C7 cam installs under our belt.
I have visited Joes shop and he took me on a personal tour of some of their projects. I was shopping for a ECS install and Joe treated me like I just spent a million dollars at his facility! Great Speed Shop, but just a little pricey. I guess you get what you pay for, so I would suggest you contact Joe as the work is first class!

Thank you sir! I looked over your quote and we were right in line pricing with others just I added a breather tank that we strongly suggest for these cars. I do hope we can work together sir, if we need to revisit the quote please feel free to give me a shout, we are running some sales on Ecs kits with install currently.
