Default Fuel System Mods

Hey guys. I come from GM-trucks.com forum. I am curious what you have found in the new 6.2's as far as limits of the stock fuel system. Basically a rough estimate at what hp you run out of the stock in take pump and when the high pressure mods are needed. Thanks.

They seem to fall on their face right around 600whp, that's the limit of the high pressure pump if everything is stock. The addition of a cam with different pump drive lobe, the most common being the 32% increase and a lash cap will give you some more head room as well. There is also the LT4/Z06 pump that can be used in conjunction with the increased cam drive lobe, but I don't think any of us have a definitive answer as to what its limits are yet. I've got one swapped in but have not retuned the car yet.

The stock pump with cam increase and the addition of methanol injection has already proven time after time around here to support 800-1000whp, so making power is not a issue. Especially for the trucks, you will blow that transmission before you stop making power.

I have a Eforce blower kit 15690 on my 2015 6.2 Sierra with a swapped in LT4 pump and the truck makes just over 500whp with a conservative tune on 93. It had a lot more in it, would do 600 easy, the trans is the limiting factor there.

I did my truck from the get go with the LT4 pump and there is a ton of head room left, but its also only putting out 500whp. Granted there is a lot more powertrain loss there. There is a LOT left in the truck if I pulley it down but I learned a long time ago that you do not screw with your daily driven vehicle. That thing will stay how it is. I don't feel like building a new transmission..

As far as the car goes, yes, as soon as I have the time to do it. She runs good as is so its not a priority.

I would imagine Theta will have results pretty quickly based on what ive read.

I tell myself this every time I get a new DD, and then order parts while I'm still waiting for it to be built.

It's a sickness we all have.
