The tank is only filling half way.
Clearly I have no clue why before going to the dealer.
So I'm posing the question to you guys.
Am I the only one with this problem?
PLEASE DONT SAY TO PUT MORE GAS IN. The pump stops filling half way. All I get is a half of a tank.
I put the nozzle in only about half as far as I would in most cars and I fill it at half flow rate. Gets me to what appears to be a full tank. Since I do it that way all the time, mileage numbers (I do check) are repeatable.
Same thing happened to me after my recall was done. Only on the first refill and has not happened on the last four fill ups. I think it has more to do with the type of nozzle on the gas station pump as it was not my regular station. This is the nozzle that cause my problem. Just flipped it upside down and it completed the fill up.
I'm going to try a different pump and only put the nozzle in half way.
I appreciate the words of advice.
This is a great community.
Thanks for all your input everyone.
I tried pulling the nozzle out a little, and the problem actually got worse.
Remember that there is a second flap in the inlet pipe that the nozzle must open..

Try turning the nozzle 90 degrees and any direction. This may also help.
I've heard of this issue from many people, and all I can say is that I'm happy to not have it, but maybe it's because I always fill up using the slowest fill tab instead of the fastest.
By the way guys, I always recommend people to use the slowest tab as you will notice that it takes less to fill up your car, as the gas pump sucks the vapor created while still charging you for what it sucks back up. Just a bit of advice. Doing this I notice that it takes my truck only 23-24 gallons to fill up when empty instead of 25+ when using the fastest flow tab.
Since I posted this I have yet to stop and get gas. It didn't always happen so I'm not sure what it could have been.
I sincerely appreciate the "call to arms" of people chiming in with advice. I've never been a part of any forum and I've only heard horror stories of trolls talking **** behind their keyboards.
From what I can tell about this group it's always been informative.
Thanks.
I'll try the turn the nozzle thing but when I think about it it's only from one shell gas station.
Maybe it's just that station.
I'll check in when I gas up next.
