Any advice on how to remove the rotor bolt? It won't come loose and I don't want to strip it.

So, I stripped it. Anyone know what the part number is for the rotor bolt? While I'm at it, what are the part numbers for the caliper bolts? They're a PITA to clean, I would rather have just used new ones. Thanks!

It stripped coming out? Jeez... They must have screwed up the torque when installing it, since it's less than 9 ft/lb.

I'll get you the numbers.

Instructions say 106 lb feet, is that not right?

I think the bolt part number might be 11570339.

Having trouble finding the caliper bolt numbers.

106 INCH pound.

Brake rotor bolt PN is, as you have, 11570339.

Front Brake Caliper Bolts w/ Adhesive PN: 11611085
.

I would recommend using one of these on the rotor screws. Even though mine were only about 3 months old (in driving months), they were a PITA to turn. This would have helped tremendously.

What size socket is needed for caliper bolts?

And any instructions on how to change the rears? Do I need to do anything related to the parking brake or is it pretty much like the fronts?

And why such huge torque numbers for the caliper bolts? I have stripped the aluminum while tightening caliper bolts on another car so I am paranoid about over tightening and stripping.

Thank you - first time Corvette owner here - I have 2015 Z51.

Rear instructions are located here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ke-rotors.html

I believe the socket is a 13mm, but this is only a 'guess' from having worked with these more than a year ago.

As for the torque value, I can't speak for the engineers who deemed this high number necessary. We do have another member's post that confirmed the torque required to remove the the factory-installed bolt, and the absence of damage from re-torquing to this (seemingly-high) torque spec. It is the correct number per GM, though.

Is 106 lb per INCH yes INCH.........not that much torque? Posted above in one response said 106 lbs........... big difference when you miss the inch me thinks.

That impact drivers is sweet. If anyone ever changes brakes on foreign cars....... you have been there done that. Its a miracle tool.

But before you invest in one......try to put a little pressure on the screw clockwise........yes.... tighten first, just smige to try to move the screw then try to back it out. And precede this with a little penetrating oil.

Are the rear caliper bolts the same as the fronts? All parts ordering sites on line do not list the caliper bolts. I'd rather replace them than having to clean them.

Thanks.

P.S. I did find the rear replacement guide - thanks.

Greg, there are a few posters talking about different things here. The rotor screws/bolts only require 106 in lb, while the caliper bolts require 162 ft lb - certainly a large difference there.

But it does appear that some poor soul read the 106 in lb as ft lb.

Is this really right? Tighten the caliper bolts (which go in an aluminum bracket) to 162 lb ft?!?!

That is 60% more torque than wheel lug nuts.

I'm not sure I have a torque wrench that goes to 162 lb ft that will fit in that space.

Thank you. Those are the DBA T3 rotors that I got from KNS Brakes (forum sponsor: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-and-base.html). Been very happy with them thus far.

Default Sheared Rotor Torx Screw

Set torque wrench to 106 in lb not foot pound. Screw sheared off. Do i even need to replace these torx screws? Or is this just an assembly line screw to hold rotor in place? I honestly dont even know what went wrong ive used torque wrenchs before. For some reason the wrench must have malfunctioned
