This is a rather common code on Chrysler HEMIs when using a cooler t-stat, the Chrysler PCMs have a high/low threshold for running the P0128 test and we just raise that up to get rid of it rather than disable the code.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

My C7 runs about 170-175 cruising down the highway with a 160 stat in pretty much any temp below 90 degrees. I don't think I have had a warmer day yet. No codes, but I also changed the thermostat table from 194 to 160.

I pulled my 160 Lingenfelder T-stat today when I was installing my new Halltech CAI. The seal was cut thru in one place and had a second small cut. When I went to install the new 170 deg one from them that I purchased, I noticed that the bottom of the spring where it is cut off was pushing into the rubber seal. So, I pulled the spring out and filed off the end so it was curved and smooth. Put everything together and it seemed to make a big difference in the rubber seal deflection at that point.

Several posts on this thread refer to cut/damaged seals. The stock T-stat has a built in seal on the pin side that doesn't touch the edge.

I took several pix of the seal and have forwarded them via e-mail to Lingenfelder. I did not test the T-stat in boiling water. Hopefully they will get back to me with either replacement seals, or a new T-stat.

My goal was to see 175-185 cruising temps, and I bought the 160 based on my experiences with aftermarket 160-170 deg T-stats in my other 3 vehicles. Mine in the Vette were always below that, in the 155-165 range for the most part.

Didn't have the DashHawk with me today when I tested the Halltech CAI, so can only report temps from the instrument panel gauge in the range of 175-190, if it is accurate. Oil temp was around 200. Forgot about checking in performance data center.

Halltech certainly sounds good!!! No whistle with it in combination with my Faster Proms/Formato Ported Intake Manifold. Certainly feels faster than my high 11 sec. Modded G8 GT, but maybe I'm just dreaming. No pipes or tune... yet!

I just installed my 3rd. 2nd one had split. My chamfering of the c,bore did not work! It seems the spring can not stay centered on the base plate pushing the o-ring off the edge of the base plate cutting (gumming) it in two. The seal feature should be exactly like the stock one.

This may be why the first ones to come out included the housing as well, which is what I have installed without an issue (at least not yet).

Looks like I posted in the second thread about waiting for a cheaper one but I guess I must have caved and spent 300 bucks. Couldn't wait.
