Default Edelbrock Eforce Installed

I almost always take the road less traveled and did once more in choosing the supercharger for my A6 Z51 coupe. I've driven both centri and Edelbrock blown cars and for my driving - around town, trips and playing on mountain roads in the area - I went with the Eforce blower. I knew before hand I was giving up peak numbers but the low end torque is just so much fun. Love the way it looks under the hood. It looks very factory delivered. The installation was done by Shawn at ECS and Doug took care of the tune which is spot on. The car drives smoother than stock and the transition to boost comes in smoothly at low RPM. I learned quickly it's still a good idea to manually shift the car into the boost range before pressing the loud pedal firmly. The car does have 1 3/4 ARH LT's on it.

The car sounds great at full song and there is now discernible blower noise.

It was 95 degrees in the dyno building at ECS and with the auto the RWHP number was lower than I expected but the torque number was what I was looking for anyways. 500RWHP and 540RWT. I asked Doug to leave it very conservatively tuned which he did. I would expect somewhat higher numbers in more ideal conditions.

The car is very quick and power is all done at 5700RPM which I also like. As I said, I knew I could get more peak HP but I wouldn't use it anyways. I'm extremely happy with the choice and everyone at ECS - Chris, Doug and Shawn made this all a fairly easy process. The Eforce may not be everyone's choice but I'm glad I went that way.

Good going. Sensible approach. Excellent torque for the street. Real nice looking install.

Did the headers give you some nice torque gain before the blower was installed?

I was running an AFE intake and the ARH LT's before with a custom Diablo tune also done by Doug at ECS. Never had the car dyno'd with that setup but the car ran noticeably stronger everywhere.

Hey Phil,

RWT is a little stronger down low. It's different with the torque converter doing it's thing so it's a difficult to directly compare. A little trickier to control the RWT with the auto but I just need more seat time with it.

Good luck selling your car. Someone is going to get a nice C5!

How did I know that one of these would end up on the new ride. Haven't seen or talked to you in ages but I officially now need to head out your way sometime for a visit and ride.

You know Kevin. Technically, its just a bolt on's modification.

I totaled The Gentleman's Cruiser when traction control went nuts. Got this and added the blower. Love it!

I really don't want to crack the engine open on this one. Blower and LT's and some CF for the interior and I can't think of anything else I really want to do...for now.

Yeah I saw the thread recently. RIP Gentleman's Cruiser. I have such fond memories of that car but thank god you walked away from the wreck that's the important thing. Could have gone much differently it sounds like. Haven't visited the forum in quite a while being Vetteless and with a toddler but things beyond looking up these days. We're currently house hunting and I've been playing around with the numbers and if I keep my Envoy and take the money I've been squirreling away for a new Silverado and instead use it for another Vette a C7 just might be in my future. Already have the green light on it from the Mrs.

Very cool. I am toying with the idea of doing the same to my car. It only has an aFE right now and I just ordered some ARH mids.

I missed the pure grunt of the 427 in the Cruiser. I went with an auto on this one and the Eforce brings me close to the same feeling but not quite as brutal.

Hey Eric,

Good to see you're still out there. Miss the Gentleman's Cruiser but the C7 is helping me get over it.

Default I knew you couldn't leave it alone.

Kevin,

I knew you couldn't leave it alone. After the epic build of the "Gentleman's Cruiser" I figured it was just a matter of time before you missed that monster motor.

Bob K.
