While I love the car, I am fast getting disappointed with the ability of my local dealers to service it. More and more frequently the car is making a very bad "scrapping" sound when getting off the clutch from a standstill. The noise is intermittent, sometimes doesn't happen for a day or two, then next day on every start. The noise extends with the duration I take easing off the clutch. Sometimes faint, other times loud enough for people standing next to my car to look over. Feel like it is coming from below or slightly in front of the gear shifter. Dealer looked it over twice so far, and unfortunately it did not make the noise when they drove it. Does anybody have any ideas? While not impacting the performance, it feels to me like fingernails going across an old blackboard. Help me before I just abandon this thing!!!
I understand your frustration, but it's hard for a mechanic to diagnose something they can't reproduce. A couple of options I can think about:
1. Keep driving it until it gets worse and happens more frequently. Unless your about to run out of your warranty (which seems unlikely) it will still be covered.
2. Ask your dealer to contact the GM Technical Assistance Center and see if they've heard of this problem before.
Sorry to say that this, "light scraping noise", sounds like what I had been hearing intermittently for the past couple of weeks. 3 days ago my clutch pedal went to the floor on a downshift from 7 to 6. Chevy will be dropping the transmission tomorrow for a starting cost of $3,700, in order to see what broke.

????????????????????
Why would they be pulling the transmission without first replacing the clutch master cylinder? My 15 had the clutch sticking to the floor issue early last year and the dealer mechanic replaced the clutch master cylinder to resolve the problem. I drove the car for a while with that issue before taking it in. When the pedal stuck to the floor I would use my toe to pull it back up and keep on driving.

Don't know what the issue is, but mine has developed this same intermittent noise for the last six months. It only happens when pulling away from a stop in first gear, and I've determined that if I push the clutch in and let it back out, the noise disappears. Hasn't impacted drivability at all, and probably only does it 10-20% of the time. Mine is a 2015 with about 36K miles, and I've tried changing the clutch fluid (ranger method), which didn't make any difference. At this point I'll just put up with it until it shows a more consistent symptom or I get rid of it (which will be before the powertrain warranty expires in August).
