2015, non Z51. Cruising at any speed car is in V4 mode. Slightest pressure on gas pedal to maintain speed and a loud rattle is heard in the motor (sounds like shaking a spray paint can) until it changes into V8 mode. Does not do it any other time. Just during transition to V8. Noise is heard on both sides of car. Does not do it with rapid acceleration. It reminds me of spark knock only louder. Using 93 octane, top tier gas. Car is in sport mode or track mode. Talked to mechanic and he said set up an appointment. Want all the ammunition I can get before I go. Any ideas?
My guess is it's the leaking belt tensioner issue, which there is a TSB for. I doubt you're going to need any ammunition to get a dealership to fix it under warranty.

Sounds like it. Been there, done that. Easy fix, even for the dealer. They may have to order the part and bring you back for a second time. Took one hour for the install.
Just had mine replaced. Noise went away.
