Default Changing rear view mirror

I have the dimming mirror to add to my 1lz. I removed the old non dimming mirror. Any tips to get the new one on?

Did it come with the Homelink visor also? I swapped one into mine, its the only thing I wanted from the 2LT, not sure how they configure that on the Z06.

Nope home link is next. But not worried the clip on the visor is not an issue.

I'm getting the dimming mirror later today for my 1LZ. I have not looked at anything yet, but can you tell me what I need to do to remove the old & replace it with the new.

Thanks

Default Changing rear view mirror

Will this work on any trim level, say a 1LT? And is it a plug n play type install?

The dimming mirror required a 12 Volt power plug to be attached to the mirror - and I do not know if the vehicle you have has this connector inside the mirror housing. The glass is easy to snap out. Turn the glass all the way in one direction, and then with your fingers behind the glass just pull it out and the round snap-in ring will give and you have the mirror in your hand - with the heater wires connected to the glass. Then it snaps back in with the tabs you will see behind the glass frame

You don't remove the glass. No wires to the glass? I removed the plastic stem cover that hides the plug and wires on the backside of the mirror. Unplug the mirror. Then you twist the whole mirror 90 degree's and it comes loose. Goes back in the same way.

If you know what you need to do, switching out the mirror takes less than a minute.

The Visor is just as easy, except you need a torx bit that fit's the 3 screws that hold it on. Once off you unplug old, plug in new with homelink and screw it back on. Takes less than 5 minutes once you spend an hour finding your torx bits! LOL

Two best 1LT. 1LZ mods. Mirrors can be found used on ebay. Best price I found on visor was thru one of the discount GM parts vendors.

So are you talking about the "side mirror" switch out, or the rear view mirror inside the car switch. I was referencing the rear view inside with the OnStar on it. Just wanted to clarify bc I wasnt sure that the inside mirror had heat like the side ones do. Thanks Tracey
