Anyone attempt to add a 9th injector pre or post Manifold to help with fueling for large hp builds??
The idea seems pretty solid and would only cost around $350-400 which would include the injector, mount (aluminum or stainless, tig weld to charge pipe pre TB) an fitting/braided line to low side (before fuel enters high pressure pump) and a controller to control it. I think Devils own has a controller that would kick the injector on based off vac/boost.
Seems like it's very doable and still be a low cost option

Technically that's meth injection, it is fuel.
There was a company near us that did that years ago before the tuning picked up on the early C5's, it didn't work very well at all. They added two injectors in between the T/B and intake. Gas doesn't atomize like alky does so cylinder variation is much worse. Good idea, but it was dropped soon after.
About the only good place for a ninth injector these days is in a diesel pickup just prior to the DPF, it provides the raw diesel needed to regenerate the particulate filter without dumping raw diesel in the engine oil as is experienced by Ford truck owners.
Wouldn't aftermarket injectors, when they come out, do a much better job? Already you are talking about 1.2 vs 1.5 LPM or 20% more when going with LT4 injectors. A ninth injector is only an 11% increase with a lot of complexity.

The problem is not injector size but having enough fuel pressure at the high pressure pump.
That is the reason I am running a secondary low pressure pump.
If going to the trouble of adding a 9th injector, why not add another 7 and have both DI and port injection? BMW did this with the last M3 (the v8 one) I think. Could work really well with a aftermarket ECU that could drive both injectors.
How about this, pump fuel on the stock injectors and then race fuel on the secondary injectors in the ports!

There is a lot of info to be added here, just haven't had the time. 1 injector alone could supply enough fuel for some pretty larger numbers alone by itself, but distribution may be the problem and judging by what I've seen inside the factory intake that would be a problem.
Megasquirt has a ECU setup to fire 8 injectors for around $450 that should work with the factory ECU, that would be the ticket. Just have fuel kick in during boost and have it ramp in at whatever speed u wanted (just have to scale back the maf/GMVE tables like we do with meth.
The factory in tank pump runs out of room around 800rwhp in gas, but a dual pump setup would fix that
Ford is doing this on their TT 3.5 Racing Engines and on the future Ford GT. Definitely the easiest way to get extra fuel. Friend did this on his TT 3.5 by modifying the aluminum intake with 6 ports. Saw 600 HP at the wheels. But... tranny couldn't take the torque and shifted weird, so couldn't get the power to the AWD.
2015 C7 BILLET YSI 416ci shop car coming together... Test fitting our custom "Direct E85 Injection" system... If your going to inject any supplemental fueling into an engine always do it directly for best distribution... This system can support 600hp+ on its own with the "small" injectors with no injector size limitations! Stunning setup! What ecu are you using to control the secondary set of injectors and how are they triggered? I would guess you use the secondaries to deliver most of the fuel with the DI injectors trimming the requirements.
I guess the great thing about running 2 injectors per cylinder is, if using one fuel source, you only need small injectors compared to say an LS engine.
