The only thing I would recommend is NOT applying the parking brakes immediately after you wash the car. Sometimes the brakes seem to stick, and you have to seem to rock the car between R & D to free them up.
Other than that, I don't think it makes a lot of difference if you park level with an automatic. Of course if you are on an incline, parking brake is the rule!
I found the first time I parked in my very steep drive that the engine compression alone is not enough to keep the car stationary. Came out after parking to find it backed out of the drive and resting against the curb. Using the e-brake diligently now...
I don't see any issue in using it, but do agree with the comment on being careful after washes.

Doesn't the parking brake actuate a separate, small drum brake, rather than the disks? If so, whether the parking brake is applied or not won't make any difference to the pads sticking to the disks.

Yeah, good point, I think that is correct and realized that today when I was testing a theory on Hill Assist.
You have to use it if you want the memory seat to function.
I need my seat all the way back to swing my bad leg into the car so its a must to use the ebrake.
Hmm never use the parking brake for the year I have had my C8. Memory seats work fine!
PS We’re flat as a pancake in NE SC so no need. Funny up to the C8 only had standard shifts for DDs and never kept in gear (as is also recommended) only used the parking brake! Old habit from my 1941 Ford I had in 1960 and later standard shifts as IF someone tapped your bumper (yep had real bumper back in the day) could hurt the trans!
