Default Differential fluid change out

This morning my buddy and I changed out the diff fluid in my C7 manual. The car has only 2k miles on it and we were shocked to see the Metallic content! Yikes! We put in just about 3 quarts of Red Line 75-90 hi pro synth fluid. I hope this was a wise move.
Thank God for this forum and the info I gleen!👍

yeah thats pretty normal. We typically see a small amount in the engine oil as well. Anything stuck to the magnetic plug is typically from break-in. You should be worried about the engine if there was anything copper, as that typically indicates abnormal bearing wear.

Yes this is normal. I had all kinds of tiny metal and the oil was a tan dark color.. I put in 3 qts max gear 75-90. Going to change again after some high powered racing. . Gotta keep that rear end fluid good and clean at all times

I'm doing some moderate track driving with my '15 Z51 and now that it has 3500 miles on it I would like to replace the rear axle fluid. I have the car up on jack stands for track prep work, but between the frame cross members, oil line cooling fins, the sway bar, and the mufflers, I can barely see the drain and fill plugs, much less access them. Am I missing something easy?

Thanks,

JV

If he are any one else are seeing cooper in the oil. I would be doing more than being worried about it. Do you know how far down it has to go into the bearing to start showing that much of the bearing in the oil. It would are should be giving off some rod r crank bearing sounds.
