I'd say somewhere between $1800 and $2000.

"Fairness" is in the eye of the beholder... Since you have all of your own parts, the shop will only make a profit on the labor, which is OK as well. If ALL installation services are being performed at ONCE (versus one item at a time), I would MYSELF consider this as fair and approximate:

1) ECS kit: $800.00
2) Dyno/street tune: $500.00
3) Meth Kit: $350.00
4) headers with X pipe: $350.00

TOTAL: Around 2K. The totality in labor should be taken into account, versus piece by piece.

I'm in Texas and checked a few places on labor even though I'm installing it myself.

Alky kit install I was quoted by three places - $350, $800, $1200
s/c install - every where was $1,200 - $1,500
Headers around $350 from two places I checked.
Tunes ranged from $600-$800.

One place did not want my business because I didn't purchase anything from him and he didn't want tune a car his shop didn't install the parts on. I can some what understand the labor stuff but parts I didn't buy from him is a little much. Most shops makes the majority of their money off labor not parts.

The shop that did mine does not sell the part, but was recommended by ECS.

I think my kit install was $800, Meth was $600, and tuning was $500. Probably $200 or so in misc materials

Some shops are still wanting to charge the same amount of labor hours for a C7 install of a supercharger, as they do for a C6. There is no comparison. A competent shop can install an A&A or ECS kit (ProCharger requires the removal/re-install of the front bumper cover, which requires an additional 2 to 3 hours of labor) in 6 to 8 hours, as the C7 kits do not require injector swap, Boost-a-pump, etc... Yes, most profit is made on labor, but most parts are marked-up quite a bit as well.

Default That's what I thought

I agree with you guys and thought it would be around 2k or maybe 2.5k from a top shop, but I was quoted;

Ok to do customer supplied ECS kit, meth, headers, correct spark plugs, map sensor, fluids, and tune would be $3128.00 if your a Z51 car add $125.87 for amsoil z-rod oil and filter change since the lines get pulled to slide the headers in.

That's $3,253.87 Ouch!

When I was looking for a shop to install LT headers, ALKY methanol kit and an ECM tune, the prices I got were mostly much higher than what the other members here are quoting. I had 3 different shops quote $850 for the headers, $1000 for the alky, and $1000 for the tune. I think the shops just see a fancy new car with mods and think they can charge any price they want.

I ended up going to Joe@CPR with much better pricing and great service.

As with any type of business there is not a national book that has set prices, each shop has to determine how valuable their time is worth and what to charge. Some will be lower, some will be higher, its just the nature of business.

You people are crazy. What is wrong with the HP that comes stock from the factory. Are you racing your cars? I don't understand. I don't have NPP but when I push the throttle down all I hear is HP noise.

I mean i can somewhat understand where that shop is coming from. Think about if someone installed something wrong, like a cam. Then the engine blew the dyno. all that does is gives a shop a bad rep.

now if someone just had headers that might be different. Over the years i have seen a decent amount of self installs gone wrong with cams, and blowers.

To be open and honest w/ everyone this is our quote. Here is the breakdown.

ECS customer supplied kit $990.00
Customer supplied meth kit $728.00 includes iat parts, meth, and giving customer a 5 gallon pail to take w/ upon pickup
Header install $500.00 customer supplied
Oil Amsoil Z-rod and wix filter only if Z51 car $125.97
LS9 map $42.81
Correct spark plugs $103.76
Tune $600.00
Shop supplies $12.95

and to be honest I fat fingered the amount lol. it's about $150 less than that total. my bad! We are dealers for these companies and most shops charge a little extra for customer supplied parts since we do make money on the parts. Some shops I know won't install them at all but i'm ok w/ it as long as it's brand new and quality brands.

To be honest it's a pretty fair deal, but the part that bothered me is labor price should be labor price.
If labor is $100 per/hr than a job that takes 8 hrs should be;
$100 x 8=$800. Not $100 x 8=$800+$500(what we would have made is they bought the parts from us)
If your not happy with your labor rate then raise it don't try to make up for it off someone that got a good deal on some parts somewhere else..
Thank you

I'm Confused where did I add an extra $500 on the bill? Our normal rate is $95/hr customer supplied parts is $105
