I'm wondering what everyone's experience is with the different builders. I originally told myself I was gonna wait till the car had a lot of miles to do anything to it, but as we all know that never happens
Which shops have the most experience with the LT1 so far? I've decided to go a similar route as ben@weaponx and do a 427, just without overbuilding it for the nitrous.
Texas Speed is good. Mast Motorsports used to build customer provided engines but I'm not sure if they still do. I think they're too busy selling their factory built setups instead of modifying customer engines now...

Since you are in Florida give Matt @FSP a call, or message him. He is a vendor on here located in Bradenton, just south of Tampa and they specialize in LSx/LT engines. They built mine, it was on the cover of the September issue of Corvette Magazine this year. They have built mine in stages and I am at 1150rwhp right now, without nitrous. Great group of guys and very reasonable on their prices.

Give us a call, we can get you fixed up with any combination you want. We have built numerous combinations for both customers and Speed Shops all over the country. A lot of great results!
Texas Speed and Late Model Engines are both great choices in Texas....not sure if there are any built shortblocks available, when I built my 416 I had to use my own.

We can do it either way. We have around 8-10 New GM LT1 Blocks in stock at any given time for those who want to go that route, or you can send in your own block and reuse it. A lot of shops send in their blocks for us to use, most customers keep their original motor intact for future sale or for other projects.

I see now, you're looking at cheaper parts too - makes sense without the nitrous needed. What I told you for mine was the big boy parts too and that also included my head work as I have big valved LT1 heads but even the ported intake manifold is holding me back a lot.
Tony Bischoff put my motor together - tough to argue with a reputation like his having won the Engine Master's Challenge FIVE times!
As for your desire, a lot of your cost will come in having to bore and resleeve the block to get a truly "square" 427. I can be done with just more stroke, but... you could pretty inexpensively do a 416 with a short block kit and have the heads ported while it's off and call it a day

I'll look into the 416 instead maybe. I just thought it'd be cool to be able to stick 427 somewhere on the car
total copycat, but I think your car looks badass so I wanted to do something similar(The 427 in spot of the Z06 emblem, I'd paint my orange!)
We use WFO locally, and LME for other builds depending on what we need to do. WFO has done quite a few local C7's for us and they all are rocking and making big power.
