Default VMax Issue

I purchased a VMAX throttle body from a vendor that has been great, but VMAX not so great. The throttle body developed an issue where the throttle blade was sticking causing drivability issues. Many things were done to try to rectify as the cause was initially not known. I contacted VMAX directly and was advised by Pete that it is not a VMAX issue. While I partially agree as it appears to be a electrical issue, since the TBody has been altered it is no longer warranted by GM, to be expected. However VMAX will not help either, so now I have a boat anchor for a throttle body sitting on my workbench. Just be wary as there is no help to fix from VMAX. I do feel if they sell a product that they should stand behind the product, as I feel they took responsibility when they modified the TBody. Maybe I am wrong, but I felt I should let it be known.

Bummer. I'm sure you've considered buying a new TB (12620263) and swapping the new guts into the VMAX? Or for that matter swapping from your original TB if you have it. New ones go for under $120.

not messing with the guts, honestly did not see any changes when installed, even on the dyno it did not change and the drivability is better now with the OE. May try another one in the future, but not now.

Are at least take it back & look over the work that was done to it.

I've had the same issue with mine off an on and thought it was tune related. On a cold start especially if I don't let the car idle for a few minutes and let the idle settle in (it will bounce around until warm) it will stick when i give it a small amount of gas as I pull out of the garage. Sometime it will stick and then begin to climb by itself. Like I said though, I had a ****** tune initially when I swapped it in and thought that was the case. The car is at Vengeance now getting heads/cam and tune so we'll see what happens or if it continues.

We chased the Tune issue for months , sometimes taking a step back creates a greater step forward
