Looks like the frame might be soft rubber? Is so, could bend or distort inwards and not fit tight in the air-box and maybe allow unfiltered air into the intake.
I have an Airaid (dry) filter. It has a hard plastic frame, fits tight and perfectly into the stock air-box.

Did you feel any hp difference or anything ?

Reason: Spelled wrong
I can tell you that ECS uses Green filters as standard for their SC builds.
As far as adding HP, this is a highly debated subject. On a stock car my personal view is it offers nothing additional. The C7 is unlike the C6 and C5 in that there is no way to get a ram effect. I think once you start doing mods, the less restictive filter will provide better breathing.

The filter actually does increase HP some Mike, the factory filter is a little restrictive compared to a Green filter, but not as much as previous years filters. I also see no need for a complete replacement air box other then for looks, the factory air box with a replacement filter flows great.
Seannyc, if you have any interest in going with an ECS supercharger kit in the future, we can sell you a filter now ($89.95) then deduct it from the kit when that times comes.
The filters are specifically made for us to hold the restrictor plate, but also work perfectly without using one too.
Took out the OEM made in Thailand filter and installed the K&N due to it being about $60.00 shipped, did not notice any change in anyway. If it helped I did not know it.

Some studies I have seen show that aftermarket filters may start out with less restriction, but they let more particulate through, and they tend to clog faster so ultimately they become more restrictive than just staying with the stock filter...

What has been the Green filter average hp increase on the LT4 over the stock filter? What else I would really like to know is between the Green and a K&N filter why did you go with the Green?

I just think it's funny that I used to street race weekly with the owners of Green Filter...before Green Filter...lol. The younger bro's had some wicked DSM's.

Any proof, as in dyno tests on a completely stock engine with the stock and green filters? Chevy uses the same filter on the Z06, and if it can supply that engine, I think it can supply the NA LT1 engine just fine. Any conclusions based on "feel" or the butt dyno are worthless. The placebo effect is very real.

I did back to back tests a while ago, like I said the difference was subtle but there. Also if you follow the C7Z forum, those guys are making large gains from replacing the filter.
With our supercharger kit the difference was also very noticeable on the dyno.
On a base C7 it's a small gain for a small price, whether that's worth or not is up to you.
