Which type of supercharger is more durable , more reliable , and requires less maintenance over a long period of time , root style or centrifugal ? I'm planning on boosting my car in a few months, I just need a little advice .

Today I think it will pretty even. Packaging will be a larger factor or simply "how easy is it going to be to make it fit under the hood. Modern centrifugal superchargers allow for external intercoolers.

Thanks for the reply . Also, what kind of maintenance does a centrifugal need to last a long time? Also , are root style maintenance free?

A self contained centrifigul will require an oil change, most do it when they change the cars oil. It's not hard at all, and very inexpensive.
