Default Just installed Z51 sway bars to my A8 Base Stingray, very nice.

Today I had a mechaniz friend of mine put on a set of Z51 sway bars on my 2015 A8 Base / Non z51 stingray. What a difference from stock. Now the back feels more stable, front also. I feel a lot more confident in terms of handling with these on. I was going to get the z51 shocks but now I am not sure about this being a good idea. car is mostly street driven with 1-3x hpde , beginner track fun. I hope my car now will be competitive with the M3, Base 911 Carrera and base Cayman. Want car to handle better than stock without making it too harsh. Ger.

I did the same and love the upgrade. This should be called the "poverty Z51".

Default Great upgrade

Hello --- I just added the Z51 Sway Bars from Cultrag and quite pleased with the upgrade (I also added C7 Carbon Turismo Side Skirts). The sway bars definitely tightened up the body roll, etc. The turn-in seems to be quicker.

Cheap and easy upgrade on the Base C7's.

Thanks!

I'm planning on doing bars myself.I have been hearing the Z51 shocks are really stiff.Maybe
Riding around town is fine but A long trip might get uncomfortable.

I drove the Z51 on the Las Vegas Road Course with an instructor and enjoyed it... It was firm, but not unbearable to me. I will see how the base shocks do for now, I may do a swap to Z51 or aftermarket when the times comes.

thanks!

^^^ Not to hijack thread, but where did you get the side skirts.
I have the same same color and really like the ones you have.
Thanks

No, but they are here on this site under:

I did the Z51 sway bars upgrade on my base model a few months ago and it reduced body roll quite a bit. I plan on picking up a set of the Z51 shocks as well to see if there is further improvement.

They're not bad. The Z51 suspension doesn't exactly ride like a Sedan DeVille, but it's not harsh.

If you are mostly a cruiser and highway rider, I don't see any need for them. They are nice for the twisty back roads though!

The upgraded/added sway bars will make a significant handling improvement whether you have base, Z51, or Mag Ride shocks. They will not cause a significant degradation of the ride comfort.

Late to this thread as I just got my C7(2017). I have the mag ride on my base car and I think I'm going to get the Z51 sway bars ( and I also should get the mag ride update) but I want to make sure the sway bars don't take away what I consider a smooth, almost plush ride when I'm going in a straight line in Touring mode. I do think the car needs the rear sway bar as it feels a little vague and wobbly when in tight turns and I can get the back to step out a little too easy. I'm almost hesitant to get the mag ride update because what it feels like now is very good. Not sure how much better it could be. Has anyone did it and regretted it? Can you go back if you didn't like it? Still learning the car but so far it's awesome. Much fun to drive....everytime.

I see this thread is a couple of years or so old but would anyone know the part numbers for the front and rear C7 Z51 sway bars? I'd like to get some for my base...

is your Vette lowered on the stock bolts? Or if anyone on the forum has upgraded to the z51 sway bars noticed any difference on the ride comfort on a lowered one?
