I posted this in the GD section but I thought I would try it here I have a 16 Vert and have a annoying creaking coming from the third bow in the top. Anybody know how to access the bows. Cant seem to get to them without dropping the inner liner. Not sure the undertaking needed to do that. I am sure if I could get to the area where the noise is I can repair the problem. Anybody have dropped that inner liner? Thanks for the help.
Update: Well I finally fixed the chirp and sweeks in my top. For those of you who have this noise develope in your vert top crossbars you have to take a torx bit and tighten the cross bars under the top. You can do this with the top half down. Just have to reach your hands in to get to the three torx head bolts on each side. My noise was on bow three but bow two was loose also. No more noise what a wonderful thing.

I have the same issue. I live in Massachusetts. I noticed that climate variables stop the creeking. It seems like the cooler weather it wont creek. Warmer weather it does. Im talking 65 degrees or less no creeking. I realize this dosent answer your question on how to stop it but I will agree its annoying.

No Answer so far, Its a pain but bringing it up to the dealer on the next visit is probably the best solution. To go there just for that is probably not worth it and a waste because it most likely will never get fixed. Although in the event you, me or anyone else who figures out the solution needs to post the resolution. It drives me nuts when it happens. Although turning up the volume seems to help = )
Thank you...I hate to have to bring it to dealer I'm concerned that they will make the problem worse or realign something and create a new issue like water leak or something
I haven't had the issue since its been cold but I know it will still be there when the weather gets warmer. I am with you guys, don't want the dealer to make it worse. I haven't read a fix yet.
Several years ago I had a s2000 with a creaky top and Honda parts counter sells this stuff called shin etsu grease. Its a tube, and you only need a little. I've used it on several cars since then and its great stuff. Rub a bit on, let it soak into the rubber bits, and wipe off the excess. It wont rattle for two years, if the cause was rubber thats got a bit hard!
Has anybody else have this problem? My question is how do you drop that inner liner to get to the third bow? Driving me . Any help would be appreciated.

That is simply a silicone grease for rubber. Shin Etsu is the manufacturer.
I had an S2000 also. That grease worked great for squeaks.

I had a problem with My 2011 GS vert...3 times to the dealer and finally they decided to
take it to a well know upholstery and convertible top shop......got it right first time.

There is a TSB for this related to the third bow. Likely others have loose bolts as well

There is a service bulletin associated with this problem. The fix involves changing out the Torx screws with a larger size. All the details are in another thread on this subject. If anyone is interested, I can probably find the thread and post.
