Anyone have an opinion of the navigation/infotainment system? I believe I've heard it's kind of clunky and slow, in desperate need of an update, however I dont believe the hardware will support Chevy's new MyLink system or whatever it is called. Basically the CPU and such are simply too old. Can anyone confirm? I'm on the fence about getting a 1LT vs a 2LT since I may live just fine using my cellphone for nav in the cup holder.
None of OEM Navs can compare to Garmin or Google. The GM Nav sucks. So far, I have been unable to input any destination to it from the screen. None were found, either using voice or touch, even though they have been in business for decades. The interface is a huge embarrassment. I have to have the wife use the OnStar app on the phone and that works fine. Same for my Acura.
Once the directions are in it does work ok except that it frequently picks the wrong route and like to take you many miles out of your way for some reason. Garmin, Google, even my Acura knows better.
And don't even get me started on the outrageous amount they charge for map updates!
Definitely not worth the price they charge for the crapulance. Use your phone through Android or Apple Car play instead.
The only good thing about the OEM one is how it integrates into the HUD.
