Default Aftermarket clutches

I've developed some vibration in my car recently. I'm not 100% sure it's the clutch, however, that's my assumption based on my limited knowledge of past experiences. I'd like to know who's replaced their factory clutch with an aftermarket setup, and with what product. I'm a headers, cam, S/C'd car making 700whp... Don't want to replace with factory parts.

I'm seeing Doug from ECS is running a special on Mantic clutches, anyone have first hand experience with their product?

I'm asking for opinions based on your setup, and why you think it's better than the next brand out there... All options are appreciated.

I have a 9000 series twin disc Manic clutch installed by ECS. Manic makes clutches for many OEM applications. The Manic is like night/day vs the stock clutch. It requires slightly more effort to engage the clutch but I like the feel. My stock clutch was starting to slip above 6k when putting down ~700 RWHP. No slipage at all now. It is also good to 1000 ft lbs of tq. I highly recommend the Manic twin disc clutch and ECS.

Good to know... Thank you for your comment, I'm glad it's a good setup. I didn't realize they were an OE manufacturer for some.

Quick question I forgot to ask you... Does this clutch chatter? I've heard these aftermarket dual disc clutches chatter pretty badly. Lemme know, thanks.

There was some chatter trying to start in first but that was me not being used to the engagement point. It is much different than the stock clutch. After about 30 minutes I got used to it and the chatter went away. I have not noticed any chatter since. That said, when my son first drove it he experienced that same chatter when moving from a dead stop. Only took him about 15 minutes to get the hang of it.

FSP is installing a triple disc Mantic clutch next week in mine. From what I am told it has a very linear feel to it.

I thought you already had a triple in your car... What clutch do you have in there now? I'm told the Z06 clutch is the same as what's already in these cars, so, can't go that route either. I just don't want a clutch chatter issue.

Sounds like overall you're happy with that clutch setup. Thank you for your reply.

I've been running a Mantic twin for 2 years. I absolutely love it and it hold the power well. There was some chatter at first during break-in but it goes away.

Good to know it goes away. How much power are you making?

Yeah keeping the clutch. Overhauled the fuel system to run flex fuel, smaller pulley, overdrive balancer, ridetech shocks, and a few other things. I initially went in to fix a broken output shaft and I decided to use the downtime wisely.

Sounds like it... How much power are you shooting for? I'm curious how much that clutch will ACTUALLY hold?

Ok... That's impressive. Crazy hp and you're still on the stock clutch!

That's exactly what I have been looking at. If you don't mind, send me a pm with ballpark cost for the clutch. Also, any differences in driving characteristics.

Thanks.
