Default C7 Intake question regarding power

Hey guys, I havent been on here in a bit since I sold my C5 in 2011 but now I'm back with a C7 A6. I bought ARH longtubes and a Corsa XTreme exhaust and now want to go ahead and grab an intake for it as well. The obvious two heavy hitters on the market are Halltech and AFE. I had a Vararam on my C5 but doesn't seem like they make one for the C7. Halltech is a big name for us guys for awhile but then I see most people running the AFE unit. Any reasoning behind it other than the cost? Has anybody actually done legit testing to see which one performs better? I don't care about what looks better, I just want to squeeze out the most power. Thanks in advance guys!

I think you already hit the nail on the head. Most are running the aFe due to the cost/benefit you get from it versus the Halltech. Since you're concerned with function moreso than appearance I would go with the aFe. I'm running one on mine with no regrets. You can't go wrong with either product.

I ran a Halltech MB103 on my C6Z and liked it. Now have the AFE on my Z7 and like it as well. I don't think there is going to be any real difference in performance, Halltech might flow a little better.

Fit and finish on the AFE is very nice, for the money hard to beat that is why so many are leaning that way.

After speaking with several tuners that are on our board. They both recommended the aFe. That is what I then bought.
