Stock 2016, non-Z51. auto trans. Pedal to the floor, standing on the brake and then release. What will be the difference in the launch if it was in Tour mode or in Track/ Launch Mode?

I've watched several videos and it appears to me that some folks are not getting a good off-the-line response with the car almost bogging. Of course, I don't know if they prepped the tires or how the tranny was set.

??? IF you're in an auto...pedal is to the floor while standing on the brake and NOT in track mode....won't this just result in a standing burnout? The launch control feature ONLY works in track mode.

Don't know. That's why I'm asking.

Just experimented with this for the 1st time a few months ago at the track with my identical car as yours
As far as I know with the TC button ON there is NO different in launch between modes----The different settings however will alter shift times ( quickest in track mode)
With the TC OFF is where you will spin badly if you don't feather the throttle--in tour sport or track-- Some people claim that there is a "launch control " in TRACK mode IF you turn both the TC OFF and the STABILITRAC OFF-----Then hold the brake to the floor and the throttle--They say it will rev to 2000 and do an aggressive controlled launch- It's called Competitive track mode I think
I could NOT get my car to do that at all---all it would do was a brake stand burnout--So I assume it is not available on a non Z51
RESULTS----With the TC button ON in any mode----The engine will rev up to about 1500 with the throttle floored-- Then I released the brake and it would do a slow launch no hint of spinning-----The best 60' time I could do was a 2.25 --Horribly lame
However It's bracket racing so being more consistent wins races and not 60' times or timing slips---It would do 2.20's every pass--- ( also ran consistent 12.40's ) that way
I did try once in qualifying turning the TC OFF in track mode --I held the RPM's with the brake to 1400 and floored the throttle----It spun badly and I had to feather back off the gas to stop the spinning----It would have produced a quicker 60' time I am sure IF I would have maybe left at 1/2 throttle and floored it after maybe 100'
It would take lots of practice to hit it just right to allow some minimal spinning and to know when exactly to floor it---
Good news is that my car did run 120-121 MPH regardless of the slow start every time
Finally I chose to run with the TC ON because I didn't want to BEAT on my new car--
At some point in the future I will try running with the TC OFF---- I am sure my car would be a mid to low 11 second car and run 1.60-1.80 60' times
