What is this part?
I was about to hook up a catch can, and I noticed this dangling there. Anyone know what this is and what it's supposed to be connected to?

looks like a MAP sensor to me.

looks like it should be dangling. do you have an iat/baro breakout harness (like from DSteck)? Do you have an LS9 Map sensor in the intake manifold?

Definitely not mine. My harnesses are plug and play, wires are colored to closely match factory, and I don't use electrical tape.

My tuner said he installed an LS9 MAP sensor. I thought that might be the reason I've been getting this code though once in awhile.

Sounds like something is not right either in the tune or hardware with that setup.... but at least you know the issue now.
Either you need a change in the tune to accommodate the parts/sensor(s) or the harness is not, uh, a good one.
You should not be getting any codes if done right.

Once it gets caught in the sepentine belt you're definitely going to get a cel!

This is the second tune from a different tuner. I'm going to suspect the harness.

it won't if he zip ties it properly behind the thermostat.

I would agree, the stock map sensor is acting as the baro sensor now and the LS9 sensor in the intake reads the map....the baro sensor code pops up it would normally be related to the maf, but now it's broken out to the harness/sensor pictured.

I pm'd dsteck. I'll try that out and see if it fixes it. I wonder if it causes any performance issues.

Why is it even connected if it's not used? Will it throw a DTC if I don't have it?

The harness, when working properly (or even made properly) pulls the baro and iat sensors out of the maf. If nothing is plugged in then not only will you have a code, your ECM will not have a reading for that measurement either.
The point of it is to pull the Barometric Pressure sensor out of the intake tube and let it read regular air pressure instead of tube pressure. This is because when you are running boost, the Baro sensor would also read boost. The atmosphere is not boosted so this is incorrect.
The boost is read in the intake manifold by a map sensor that can read it, like the LS9 sensor, which is plug and play with the LT1.
The E92 ECM does not use Map for fueling it uses Pressure Ratio which is MAP/Baro. If baro is boosted then PR will be 1:1, which is wrong.
There is a good chance you are getting that Baro code because your tune is wrong and does not properly describe the change.
